Wedding Venues – 5 Beautiful Barns (Home Counties)

John and I got engaged back in June 2016, we have viewed a fair share of places (over 20!). The first thing on any newly-weds list is to get the wedding venue booked. We decided to explore many rustic barns 😇

We live in a lovely suburb in Berkshire between Reading and Wokingham – we ideally wanted somewhere located in the home counties 🌍

Here are some of the beautiful barn wedding venues we have viewed in our wedding adventure:

1.) Rivervale Barn, Hampshire

Our first visit was to the Rivervale Barn which is a beautiful civil ceremony and wedding reception. Situated in Yateley in Hampshire, it is just over 10 miles away from Reading. A couple of my friends got married here and I had only heard good things 👰💑

First impressions? we thought it was perfect 💕 The Barn is light and airy, with different sections of the barn for different functions- so the flow of the building worked really well. What really stood out was the outside space, so beautiful with a pond and plenty of outdoors space 🌳☀️

2.) Wasing Park, Berkshire

We attend a wedding fair at Wasing Park and we had high hopes for this venue. All my married friends have told me Wasing Park is beautiful and THE best location for a Berkshire Barn wedding.

Situated in Aldermaston, Wasing Park can accommodate both traditional church and civil ceremony weddings. With St. Nicholas Church situated on the Wasing Estate, if it’s a church wedding you’re after then Wasing is the perfect location for your ceremony and reception.

What was most surprising about Wasing Park was the scale and size of the estate, it was huge and so many buildings to explore 💒 I love the almost castle like entrance to the main barn, truly it is spectacular 🏰

Another major draw to this venue is the accommodation available for family and friends who are traveling from afar, up to 19 rooms are available and all the rooms are beautiful and full of character 🏩

3.) The Barn at Bury Court, Surrey

Whilst searching on the internet for quirky barn wedding venues, I came across the Barn at Bury Court situated in Bentley near Farnham, Surrey. Licensed for civil ceremonies, the place offers a very cosy and intimate space.

I have to admit, my first impressions were very positive. After seeing Rivervale Barn and Wasing Park I thought nothing else would impress me … I was very wrong! 🙊😂 The Barn was large and airy, with enough space to host a lowered dancefloor/ceremony area and then the main Barn area for the wedding breakfast.

There was a first floor “chill out” space with a balcony that overlooked the Barn, perfect to place a photobooth or some games. What’s more there is a quiet room round the back which can be used to host teas and coffees ☕️ or even become a children’s area 👶🏻❤️

4.) Clock Barn, Hampshire

The name itself just sounds cute! 😍 Clock Barn is an elegant, traditional family-run wedding venue in Whitchurch, Hampshire situated between Andover and Basingstoke.

We loved the look and surroundings of this barn, it was tranquil and cosy. I must admit, I would have preferred a bit more outdoor space but the barn is beautiful with a lovely sitting room space for children/grandparents 💕 👴 👵 👶

5.) Old Luxters Barn, Oxfordshire

A friend at work recommended Old Luxters Barn in Oxfordshire is set in a beautiful landscape just north of Henley-On-Thames. The barn is part of a winery, brewery and vineyard 🍷🌿🍺

I have to say I thought Old Luxters was very secluded and intimate. The best thing is the beautiful scenery! 🌅 🌷 🌼 There is also a rustic house available for guests to stay the night which is always handy when you have family/friends traveling over  🏩

Price wise, Old Luxters Barn is the most competitive place we saw so definitely worth checking out as it is beautiful.

Thank you for reading …

I hope you enjoyed my post and that is has been helpful if you have been looking for that special barn for your big day! We ended up going for a venue which was totally different, a castle 🏰

A wedding is probably the biggest and most expensive night of your life, so take your time to research and look around. There is no need to rush, find the perfect venue for you!

 🙌🏽❤️👰
